Get out your butter and egg and allow both to come to room temperature while getting out all ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl combine the dry ingredients: oats, flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl use a hand mixer to cream together room temperature butter and sugar. Once combined, add in egg and vanilla then mix again using hand mixer.
Slowly add the mixed dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients, continuing to mix using hand mixer.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Use a cookie scoop to grab 2 tablespoons of dough and place on cookie sheet. You can either leave them in a mound or flatten using the palm of your hand.
Bake for 10-11 minutes. Allow to cool on the pan for about 5 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
