Instructions
Begin by grabbing out all ingredients to ensure you have them on hand! Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl combine: flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts.
Allow the butter and egg to reach room temperature. Then, in a medium bowl use your electric mixer to cream together the butter and brown sugar.
Mix in the vanilla extract, maple syrup, and egg until well combined.
Slowly combine the bowl of dry ingredients into the bowl of wet ingredients.
Place the mixture into the refrigerator for 10 minutes to chill.
Use your cookie dough scoop to grab equal portion of dough. Set on a baking sheet. Do not flatten.
Top with flaky salt. If desired, top with additional walnuts.
Bake for 9 minutes. Once done, remove from the oven and immediately place on a cooling rack for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
Notes
Store in an air-tight container.
Due to the nature of this recipe these cookies will soften over time. This means you should enjoy them within a few days of baking!
