Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Grab out your butter and eggs and allow to come to room temperature. Set aside your baking sheet.
In a medium bowl combine your flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a medium bowl cream together the room temperature butter and both sugars. Then, add in the 2 eggs and mix using the electric mixer for an additional 30 seconds. Next, add in the vanilla and mix again.
Slowly mix in the bowl of flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Mix in ¼ cup of chopped walnuts and chocolate chips until just evenly distributed.
Cover the dough and place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, use a measuring spoon to grab 2 tablespoons of dough. Roll in the palms of your hands until rounded. Set on your baking sheet. Do not flatten. Top with additional walnuts and chocolate chips. Repeat until pan has 6-8 dough balls.
Cook in oven for 12-15 minutes.Then, remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for an additional 5-10 minutes. Then, remove from the baking sheet and place on a cooling rack.
