Puppy chow is a classic! But, why does it have to stay the same every time you have it?
By using white chocolate instead of a milk or dark chocolate the coloring comes out lighter and brighter. Then, adding Valentine’s colored candies, sprinkles, and mini marshmallows transforms this classic treat into a sweet-looking and tasting dessert that is perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Making Puppy Chow
If you didn’t grow up sneaking pieces of Chex as your mom made a batch of puppy chow big enough to feed an army, then know that it’s very easy! This Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow version is just as good so no worries, you’re not missing out on any of the nostalgic flavor!
Everyone will have different tip’s and tricks their family has always used. You can discover the technique you prefer, but i’ll let you in on how I do it!
You’ll need: a large baking sheet, some parchment paper, measuring cups, and 2 large bowls- that’s it!
Selecting Your Ingredients
To make Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow you’ll definitely want to hunt down the festive colored M&M’s for this recipe. Obviously the taste won’t be different, but it definitely adds an element of cuteness!
For some reason these M&M’s were extremely difficult to find this holiday season. I couldn’t find them at Target, Walmart, or even Meijer. I ended up stumbling upon them at Rite-Aid! Who would have thought!?
If you’re trying to avoid this hunt you can also pay a little bit more and just order them from Amazon.
Another ingredient you may want to gather before starting are some red, pink, and white sprinkles! They’re aren’t a requirement for this recipe but again, they add to the cuteness.
You can snag sprinkles like these pretty much anywhere. If you’re making this recipe in a month other than February you may find it a bit more difficult. Try checking at your local Michael’s or you can always add them to your Amazon cart.
What To Do With Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow
Please please please do not feed this Valentine’s Day Puppy Chow to your puppy! It is not animal-friendly!
Now that we got that out of the way, I see you’re questioning what to do with your puppy chow now that you’ve got it made.
Of course you can put on a rom-com and snack on it but you’ll likely end up with a stomach ache.
A good idea is placing some in a tupperware container or zip-lock baggie for yourself then distribute the rest to friends, families, and even anyone you encounter throughout your day!
You can put it in a Valentine’s Day themed baggie, a mini mason jar, or come cellophane with a ribbon! You can be sure that receiving this gift will brighten anyone’s day!
