Oreo Donut Ingredients
You may be surprised by how simple the ingredients are for these Oreo Donuts! I am sure your pantry already has the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, Oreos, and salt. You may not have cocoa powder, but you may! If not this is a simple ingredient found right in the baking aisle in any grocery store. There are some fancier ones available but good ol’ Nestle cocoa powder works perfectly well!
The wet ingredients are also commonly kept in the house: eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and oil. See, you are so much closer to having a mouthwatering batch of oreo donuts than you thought!
Tips For Making This Baked Oreo Donut Recipe
- Generously grease your donut pan: having a batch of donuts get stuck in the pan after all the baking you just did would be the worst! Be sure there’s enough non-stick spray to avoid any sticking issues!
- Fill the pan correctly: You will use nearly all of the batter to fill your donut pan. Be sure you fill the donut spaces until they are nearly 7/8ths full. This allows there to be enough batter to grown and form a rounded top. Also, use two spoons to fill the pan and thank me later.
- Take the donuts out of the pan VERY carefully: If you decide to bake these donuts on the least amount of time compared to the longer option, be weary of taking the donut out of the pan. Lay out a flat sheet (i.e. paper towel, kitchen towel, saran wrap) and gently tip the donut pan over and tap until they all come out. This flat surface ensures the soft tops don’t get ruined!
- Cream cheese in the icing: It is doable to skip the use of cream cheese in the icing, but the consistency will be less thick. This ingredient helps keep the icing from falling off the donut but also makes the icing taste more similar to the ‘stuf’ in oreos!
Oreo Donut FAQ’s
Will these taste like Krispy Kreme donuts?
Not really. That’s the nature of the baking style. These are made in a pan in the oven while theirs are not!
Are you spelling donuts correctly?
I do-nut know (I couldn’t help myself!). I do know that doughnuts was used earlier than donut, but does that means it’s proper?
How many Oreos do I need?
Technically, you only need 10 Oreos. But, are you really going to be sad with half a box of leftover Oreos? Me neither!
How do I store these oreo donuts?
If you are able to have any leftovers at the end of the day, store the Oreo Donuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
