It may seem straightforward in saying you need red potatoes and onions to make Air Fryer Red Potatoes and Onions. The thing is, you need a couple other ingredients, too:
- Red Potatoes
- White Onion
- Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
- Optional: Cilantro
So, as you can see this potato recipe is incredibly easy and only uses minimal ingredients. Because it is so simple, this is a perfect recipe to use when you don’t feel like cooking, are short on time, or really just need a satisfying comfort food.
How to Make Air Fryer Red Potatoes and Onions
Making this recipe is both simple and quick.
Start by cleaning your potatoes, cut them in half lengthwise then across. Repeat with the rest of your potatoes. Next, chop up an entire (small) white onion into small pieces. Now, drizzle over a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle on salt and pepper to taste.
Pop your batch of red potatoes and onion into your air fryer and set to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In 25 short minutes you’ll have an incredible batch of air fryer red potatoes and onion! Try not to get too excited and pull them out early!
What to Serve With Potatoes and Onions
The great thing about these potatoes and onions? They work for any meal- breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
For breakfast, pair these potatoes with some homemade waffles or with a batch of egg cups!
For lunch, nothing goes better with potatoes than chicken tenders. These are the best chicken tenders ever. I mean there’s parmesan cheese in the breading, what could be better!?

Easy Air Fryer Red Potatoes and Onions Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 Red Potatoes
- 1 Small White Onion
- 1 Tablespoon Olive OIl
- Salte and pepper to taste
- 1 Teaspoon Cilatro Optional
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Clean your red potatoes and cut in half lengthwise then cut those pieces in half. Because not all potatoes are the same size you may need to make a couple more cuts on some potatoes. Try your best to make all pieces similar in size.
- Peel your onion. Cut in half then into small strips.
- Place cut potatoes and onions into a medium bowl.
- Add in olive oil and salt and pepper. Use a large spoon to thoroughly mix so everything is coated in oil.
- Add to your air fryer in a single layer. Cook or 25 minutes, shaking the container every so often.
- Once crispy, place in a bowl and add cilantro, if wanted. Enjoy!

- Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator
