Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Can I reheat this?
Yes! If you make too much or are meal-prepping these flatbreads can easily be reheated in the air fryer! Pop it in at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for about 3-5 minutes and you’ve got a delicious meal. Note that due to storage and reheating, it will be dryer than the original. Add some extra pesto to keep it tasting tasty!
What other toppings should I add?
You can melt some butter with spices and brush this onto the flatbread before any toppings to start with an even more delicious base! On this, you could also add feta, cucumber, pepperoncini, and fresh basil leaves, or finish it off with a drizzle of olive oil.
What are some other flavor combo’s should I try?
The possibilities are nearly endless! You could do a taco flatbread with beef, cheddar cheese, or nacho cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and crushed chips. Another could be pizza-themed! Use marinara, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and any other of your pizza topping go-to’s. The last idea is a ‘fridge clean out’ flatbread. Expert Tips and Tricks
- Combine the chicken and pesto in a bowl. It can get a bit messy, but if you attempt to layer the chicken and then the pesto on the flatbread, it will not be as well distributed on your flatbread.
- Be sure to have your oven already up to temperature prior to cooking!
- When cutting your flatbread use a pizza cutter! It makes it so easy.
A Word From a Registered Dietitian
A single flatbread uses three ounces of chicken. That is about 24g of protein! A meal is recommended to have about 20-30g of protein. And this is from the chicken alone! This flatbread is deceiving, with much more protein than you’d expect.
Many people get into a dinner rut. When you are sick of your typical go-to’s think of this recipe! Flatbreads are not usually in the dinner rotation, so you can easily grab a pack of naan and a rotisserie chicken and have a fun, easy, and exciting meal all while knowing you’re still reaching your protein goals!
