If your fall includes a few too many sweet treats, try these healthy pumpkin banana muffins. With these, you can enjoy your favorite fall flavors with some delicious health benefits!
In the terms of fall flavors, i’m more of a apple cinnamon gal over a pumpkin spice person. BUT, if you pair pumpkin with some banana (and add a few over yummy ingredients) I will definitely enjoy it!
This muffin is so versatile. You can pair it with a bowl of greek yogurt to make for a satisfying breakfast, have it as a hearty snack throughout your day, and it’s even luscious enough to cure that late night sweet tooth!
Healthy Pumpkin Banana Muffins
I bet you’re asking yourself, “what makes these muffins healthy?”
Pumpkin is a great source of vitamin A and beta-carotene. In addition, it supports immunity! That’s perfect as the weather begins to cool down and colds start to spread just about this time of year!
Bananas are an awesome source of carbohydrates that provide you with energy and keep you energized throughout your day. They also contain fiber. Fiber keeps you full!
Overall, with the benefits that the pumpkin and banana provide in these health pumpkin banana muffins, they are worth the few extra ingredients!
Adding To The Muffins
If a muffin without chocolate chips is off the table for you and your family, feel free to add some! Adding a few chocolate chips won’t makes these muffins ‘bad for you’. If a little chocolate is the difference between you getting the pumpkin and banana benefits, add them!
More of a texture person? Add a few handfuls of your favorite nuts. Not only does this add the additional texture, it adds additional healthy fats and nutrients.
An addition, I love to add is peanut butter or butter. Smearing on a glob of creamy peanut butter or soft butter on warm healthy pumpkin banana muffins is one of the best fall moments out there!
