Even better? This dish can be made ahead of time then popped in the oven 35 minutes before you’re ready to eat! That’s just on eless dish to stress out about on your big day of cooking.

Well that’s okay! This is an easy and simple dish dish that makes it look like you put in more effort than you actually did! It pairs well with grilled chicken, pork chops, or ribs! Or, really anything else you want!

Pick Your Favorite Bread Crumbs

I use whole wheat bread crumbs for this recipes, but that doesn’t mean you need to. One of the most popular brands of bread crumbs that can be purchased in most grocery stores is Panko. They have so many varieties- italian, regular, gluten-free… You can even make your own breadcrumbs. Check out Gemma from Bigger Bolder Baking’s recipe for making your own. P.S. it’s super easy!

Creamed Corn Casserole with Breadcrumbs

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cans Corn (15.25oz each)
  • 1 Cup Bread Crumbs Whole Wheat
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter Melted
  • 1/2 Block Cream cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/3 Cup Onion Minced
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Peprika
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/8th Teaspoon Salt
  • Sprinkle Parsley Optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 8x8 casserole dish with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • Allow your egg and cream cheese to come to room temperature.
  • Open your can's of corn. Rinse then place in a large bowl. Add in onion, salt, pepper, paprika, egg, and cream cheese. Combine well then add to casserole dish.
  • Combine butter and bread crumbs. Evenly distribute on top of corn mixture in casserole dish. Sprinkle with parsley if desired.
  • Bake in oven for 35 minutes.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared beforehand then baked when ready to eat
  • Using whole wheat bread crumbs is optional. Choose the type you prefer!
  • If you want a thicker casserole use a smaller casserole dish. Adjust baking time as necessary.
