If you’re from the Midwest you already understand the obsession with Ranch dressing but now you’re going to be even more addicted to my Southwest Ranch.
Making Southwest Ranch
You can easily buy a bottle of chipotle, spicy, or southwest ranch from your local grocery store but you don’t know what you’re going to get. It may not be spicy enough for you, or even worse- too spicy.
You also don’t know how thick it is going to be. What if you spend $5 dollar on a bottle just to find its way to thin? What’s the point!?
By making your own Southwest Ranch you can tailor it’s level of spice to what you prefer while also knowing you’ll be getting the beloved texture of classic Ranch dressing.
I found my preferred combination of Ranch dressing to taco seasoning to be:
1/2 cup Ranch : 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
Want it spicier? Add more taco seasoning! It’s as simple as that! If you tend to like your dips to be mega spicy consider sprinkling in some chipotle or paprika.
The Taco Seasoning
You can use whichever taco seasoning you prefer. It would be best to use a resealable container as you won’t be using too much. A large container of taco seasoning like this is a great option as you can close it afterwards but you can also use it for other cooking needs in the future!
You can also use the small pouches of taco seasoning but you may find that you are throwing some away.
Whichever you choose, it’ll taste awesome!
Ways to Enjoy Southwest Ranch
Southwest Ranch doesn’t have to be solely used as a dip or dressing. The uses for it are pretty much endless.

- A spread on your favorite sandwich
- Flavorful veggie dip
- Paired with fresh naan
- Drizzled on a wrap or burrito
- Combined with beans, corn, and rice for a quick lunch or snack
- Layer 8 of a 7-Layer appetizer
