The Difference in Taste of Olipop vs Poppi
A preference in the taste between the two is subjective. Personally, I enjoy both!
Over the course of writing this article I have done my research. Sure, I have always drank both but obviously I needed to drink a few extra to really get into the nitty gritty. That’s why I had 11 cans. Strictly for research purposes.
To me, Olipop is a bit more carbonated, and tastes similar to pop. For example, I believe the Orange Olipop is similar to orange Fanta.
While Poppi has a more subtle flavor more similar to juice. In my opinion, the orange Poppi is similar to a slightly carbonated orange juice.

All About Fiber
Probiotics are the bacteria that live in your gut while prebiotics are the food these bacteria eat. Both are important! If you want to keep ‘good’ bacteria around you need to feed them what they like to eat.
You can get probiotics from fermented foods such as yogurt or kefir. You can get prebiotics from whole grains, many fruits, potatoes, onions, etc.
So, the prebiotics (a type of fiber) that are in these drinks feed your gut bacteria!
A great aspect to Olipop and Poppi is that they have fiber! Many Americans are not getting the recommended amount of fiber: 25g/day for women and 38g/day for men. A can of Olipop has a whopping 9g of fiber and a can of Poppi has 2g of fiber.
Olipop vs Poppi vs Soda Pop
As you probably see by now, both Olipop and Poppi offer some awesome nutrition benefits. A classic can of pop tends to have about 140 calories and 39g of added sugars.
So, if you are attempting to consume less calories or added sugars you may want to try swapping your favorite soda pop for the functional alternative.

A Word From A Registered Dietitian
As a dietitian, I love that new products such as Olipop and Poppi now exist! They make enjoying a fun beverage more beneficial! Though, they can be a bit pricy, they are a great lower sugar soda replacement.
Advances in technology bring new opportunities for the creation of unique food products that can be both healthful and delicious. Some may say these beverages are too ‘processed’ but really, what is wrong with that? Even baby carrots are considered processed!
Try not to judge a food too quickly based on what you hear on social media!
