Craving fresh apple cinnamon donuts like the ones you get from the apple orchard? These baked donuts are packed with the apple flavor you’re craving with the sweet cinnamon sugar taste you know and love.
Baked Apple Cinnamon Donuts
Apple cinnamon donuts are a fall staple, but are you trying to avoid fried foods? Well, baking them still makes for an awesome donut without the added oils!
Making baked donuts are easier than making a pie! All you do is make the batter, fill the pan, then cover in toppings!
Simple and Easy
Making apple cinnamon donuts is truly simple and easy. If it’s fall, you likely have have all the ingredients too! Most donut recipes are for cider donuts. And you know what they want you to do? MAKE YOUR OWN CIDER?!
If you’re like me you will immediately decide that is too much work. I get it. That’s why I kept this recipe simple and easy while keeping all the apple and cinnamon flavor you’re wanting.
Tools You’ll Need
There are two kitchen tools that are needed to make this recipe easy.
The donut pan is used to help mold the donuts into their classic circular shape. Once you make one donut recipe you’ll be obsessed. Trust me, get the donut pan. You can click the link above and grab the same pan I have from Amazon or now Target and HomeGoods often have them as well!
You likely already have a grater. Any is fine. I used the largest size on mine to shred my apple. If you don’t have a grater and would rather not purchase one, you still have options! You can always attempt using a lemon zester or simply take your time to thinly slice your apple.
What Apples To Use
I used local Honeycrisp apples for my donuts. I think I am in the majority here when I say Honeycrisp are the superior type of apple. They are a crisp and sweet red-ish apple that are just perfect for all of your apple needs.
Another option is to use Granny Smith apples. These are green apples with a more firm and tart taste that make for the perfect apple for baking.
Apple Cinnamon Donut Pairings
