When you get bored it can be easy to fill your time (and mouth!) by mindless snacking, even if you aren’t even hungry!
Mindless snacking isn’t always ‘bad’ but if it happens too often it can lead to unintentional weight gain. Keeping yourself occupied and your body busy can keep you from overeating.
- Go for a walk
- Put away the snacks sitting on the cupboard
- Do a puzzle
- Dream about your bucket list… or start planning!
- Make a moodboard
- Research what your next Netflix binge will be!
- Brush your teeth
- Write down a short-term goal and long-term goal then plan out how you will reach them
- Make yourself a cup of tea
- Take a relaxing bath
- Wash and chop the veggies in your fridge
- Update your LinkedIn account
- Call a friend or family
- Take a few moments to journal
- Read a book or magazine
- Listen to your favorite song from each decade
- Write down everything you’ve had in the day already
- Go through your photos and get some new ones printed to update your frames
- Paint or draw
- Write a letter and send it through snail mail. It’ll surely make someone smile!
- Take a look at the current events and news (if you’re up to it)
- Play fetch with your dog (can cats play fetch??)
- Do a crossword
- Go through your spice drawer. Yes, they do go bad!
- Clean some areas of your home you may have been avoiding
- Research where you could volunteer soon
- Organize the files on your computer
- Drink a glass of water
- Nail down your ‘why’ in what you are currently attempting to achieve
- Meal prep
- Take a nap
- Wander around Target or HomeGoods… You know, the best stores ever
- Balance your checkbook
- Think of gift ideas for upcoming birthdays and holidays
- Plan your meals for the week
- Put on a face mask and paint your nails
- Clean out your email!
- Light a candle
- Have a good stretch session- you probably haven’t in a while anyways!
- Start chewing a piece of gum
- Make a list of compliments for yourself
- Do some sit-up’s and jumping-jacks
- Pluck some of those outgrown eyebrows
- Throw out expired food in your pantry and fridge
- Learn how to invest
- Online shop for necessities. Be sure to not mindlessly spend either!
- Go through your closet and start a ‘to be donated’ pile
- Clean out the trash in your car
- Make a list of things you would like to get to in the next month
- Do a load of laundry
- Think about the best ways for you to reduce mindless snacking
- Organize your cupboards
- Read some inspirational quotes
