Everyone hates on the the typical girls being obsessed with avocado toast lately. I, on the other hand, see it as an AMAZING change. Your average avocado toast is a toasted slice of sourdough topped with avocado and an egg with ‘everything but the bagel’ seasoning (from Trader Joe’s). You know what this means? It’s actually pretty simple. It has all 3 macronutrients, making it balanced! Carbs from the bread, fats from the avocado, and protein from the egg. Sure this isn’t crazy but it’s a better trend than a juice cleanse, a freak shake, or going keto.
So I thought I may as well tell you how I make my favorite avocado toasts:
- Toasted sourdough with mashed avocado, loads of garlic powder, tomato slices, an over-easy egg, and finished with everything-but-the-bagel seasoning or
- Toasted sourdough with avocado, olive oil, and pepper (less balanced option, but still tasty)
You may have not picked it up from this but just a reminder to actually consider popular trends before hopping on board. They aren’t all beneficial (actually they’re normally harmful).
